Is it ever going to stop.....

Ok, so seriously I'm over this whole throwing up thing! It is really irritating me. Yuck, I HATE throwing up! Last Thursday I got so excited because I hadn't thrown up all day! Then on Friday I got even more excited when I had made it 44 hours without throwing up! Then here it came, I almost made it 48 hours. Then on Saturday I couldn't keep anything down, not even ice chips that I ate very very slowly. I stayed doped up on Phenergan that they had given me at the OB office, all day. Then Sunday morning as I got up and started to get ready for church, I started throwing up again. Needless to say I've done nothing but puke, take a phenergan and sleep. Jerrod got me some Gatorade and Saltine crackers and I couldn't keep that down! Today I felt horrible but I had to go to work. It's not fun sitting at your desk wondering if you're going to make it to the bathroom in time! I keep telling myself, just 2-3 more weeks and the first Trimester will be over! I'm praying very very hard that I'm not one of those who is sick the entire length of her pregnancy! I'd really like to enjoy it and that couldn't come soon enough!

How fast the baby is growing!

On Tuesday we went back to Dr Thatcher's office for another ultrasound. For whatever reason, he wasn't in that day so we got to see Dr Kennedy. That was fine with us, we had seen him once before and his ultrasound machine had sound. I started puking my guts out as soon as we got in the ultrasound room! For some reason the night sickness is carrying over to the morning also! YUCK! I think I puke about every hour on the hour every single day! Anyway, even though I had already heard the heartbeat a couple of times (working with ultrasound techs in my office does have it's perks!) Jerrod had not actually heard it "live". He was so excited! The heart rate was 173 beats per minute. After our visit was over, we got in the elevator and I looked at Jerrod and said, "173 bpm, it's a girl!" He of course replied with, "Nope it's a boy, the heart rate won't tell you anything!" He wants a boy so bad he just can't stand it. I on the other hand think it's a girl but will be happy either way!

Then after I got off work, I went to Erwin because I had asked Mom to fix me some chicken and dumplins! I felt like I could keep them down and they would taste good. They sure were good and I didn't throw them up! When my sister Ellen got home she wanted to do the "Needle test." So since we didn't know how to do it, she got on the internet and found several ways to do it. We did the test over my belly and the needle started out in a small circle and then got bigger. A circle means a girl! Then we did the test over my wrist, same thing, circles. My sister got so excited because she wants the baby to be a girl!

On Wednesday, it was Mom's birthday! She decided to cook a roast and so Jerrod and I went over and ate with Mom, Daddy and Ellen. Every year after Mother's Day I always go to Indian Creek Nursery and get some flowers for our flower beds and planters and so forth. This year I decided I am just too tired to do a whole lot but I did go and get a few things while I was waiting on dinner to finish.

Today we had our first OB appointment. It went really well. I had a few questions that I needed to ask that Dr Thatcher couldn't answer for me. And I haven't thrown up all day! YAY!!! Now I'm going to try to get outside for a little while and get those flowers I bought yesterday in the planters before it rains!

Mother's Day

This year, Mother's Day was bittersweet. I woke up to my sweet little puppy and Jerrod telling her to tell me Happy Mother's Day. Needless to say all she did was come over and lick my face. Before we left for church Jerrod laid a card on the bed. It was a card for the Mommy to be. Very sweet and so thoughtful of him to to that for me. We went to church and then Jerrod went to be with his mom and my mom came over to my house. Usually my mom's side of the family all gets together with my Grandmother. This year was different. Since she was in the rehab facility after her stroke, we had to change our plans. Mom loves Moto's, so we ordered take out and myself, Mom, Ellen and Daddy ate at my house. We had a good time, laughed alot and I gave Mom a picture frame that said "Grandchild." She loved it! My sweet little sister gave me 2 pairs of socks and a Mommy to be card. She thinks the baby is a girl but she knew she had to get a pair for a boy and a pair for a girl. After we took some pictures we went to see my Grandmother. It was really sad that on such a special day she really didn't get to celebrate it like we usually do. After visiting with her, I went home and took a nap. It was awesome! I love taking naps! After I woke up I talked to my mother in law for a while on the phone who also loved her "Grandchild" picture frame that Jerrod brought her. She told me she had gotten me a gift and Jerrod would be bringing it home after work. I opened it the next morning and it was a Willow Tree Angel that was pregnant. It was so sweet and so thoughtful of her to get that for me. I love it!!! I put it on my dresser next to where I keep my wedding rings so I can look at it every morning! It is just so amazing that this time next year I will actually be a Mother.

Things have been a little crazy

The last two weeks have been crazy! On April 29th, my Grandmother had a stroke. For those of you who don't know, my Grandmother is a very active person to be the age she is! This was devastating to all our family. It has impaired her speech and the use of her right side but she has been moved to Quillen Rehab where we hope she is going to make alot of progress. She is such a strong-willed and determined woman that I'm certain she's going to pull thru this. My birthday came and went on May 2nd and with all that was going on with Grandmother, it was just any other day. Jerrod had to work but luckily he did get to take me to Cracker Barrel for lunch before he left for work. Then after being sick all afternoon, thanks to the baby, I went to the Firehouse with my sister and cousins, Paul and Neal and his fiance, Julia. We had such a fun time, just like always!

On Monday morning I got up and started throwing up, yuck morning sickness! I had been having night sickness so first thing in the morning was not fun. I took a shower and started getting ready for work. I kinda felt like something was wrong and sure enough, I had begun to bleed. Dr Thatcher had said if that ever happened to call immediately. I woke Jerrod up, discussed what we should do, called in to work and called Dr Thatcher's office. Of course they told me to come in. After another ultrasound, thankfully it was determined that the baby was fine, it had grown, its little heart was just beating away and Dr Thatcher felt like the placenta was just bedding down. He put me on bed rest for the day and told me if there was anymore bleeding to come back on Friday. So we've made it thru the week with no more bleeding! YAY! Baby Tolley gave us quite a scare!!! So we go back on Tuesday for another ultrasound with Dr Thatcher. I'm exhausted, nauseated constantly and ready for the first trimester to be over!!! I hate throwing up but my sweet hubby has been keeping the toilets extra clean for me! I am 8 weeks and 1 day today. I just keep telling myself 1 more month and hopefully this will all go away, my house is a disaster and I just am too tired to clean it! As far as cravings go, GRAPE SODA, I can't get enough! As far as smells, if Jerrod makes pizza rolls ever again I will hurt him! The house stunk for days!!! Also I went to the grocery store tonight and all those smells were so overwhelming! Several times I thought to myself, "Clean up on Asile #" or just a few more things and you can get out of here.
